Koen C.E. Huysmans °1976

Koen started his artistic quest in the late ‘90s. In 2005, he and a painter friend set up coat03, a collective workshop. Coat03 grows and soon comprises four artists, who – during exhibitions – all work together on one single canvas during ‘Brush Battles’. In June 2007, Koen launches his interactive project ‘Glober’. During the following months, this recognizable figurine will be photographed all over the world. In the fall, Koen starts a part time painting class at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. He becomes 8th laureate at Art-by (cfr. infra), and two of his paintings travel around Flanders during GO!ART, an exposition that celebrates 20 years of public education. In 2010, Koen participates in the entrance exam at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, and is allowed to start at In Situ³. Since then, his work evolved into site-specific sculptural installations.
